The weekly // 3

After a long weekend away from Clemson and from each other, it was nice to just sit and catch up over ice cream Monday night.

I'm increasingly thankful for this man.

And he got me these!

Matt and I headed to my house Thursday night so that I could get my wisdom teeth taken out the next morning. Unfortunately, it snowed and my appointment was postponed. I was not a happy camper, but the weekend ended up being nice and relaxing. It was good to spend some quality time with the family.

We got to see Josh on his first night of work, played lots of Settlers, watched a decent amount of movies, and just hung out with each other.

This weekend did not turn out how I thought it would, or how I wanted it to. The Catilyn of a few years ago would have lost it. Pouted, grumbled, been miserable all weekend, and made everyone around me miserable too. And while that reaction is definitely easier, it's awful.

It isn't glorifying to the Lord.

I'm thankful that God is allowing this independent, uptight, self-loving heart of mine to go with the flow and trust Him. I have a long, long ways to go, but I'm thankful for the grace He has shown in sanctifying me and allowing me to recognize His work.

And to see glorious works of His hand such as this.

The weekly // 2

After a hard fought battle and a heart breaking loss for the Clemson Tigers in the National Championship, a weekend spent leading the 9th grade girls for Uprising 2016 was a great way to spend the long weekend.

The weekly // 1

Road tripped with Jenna to see Emily before she heads off to Spain // First day of class...pumped to have another one with Mac! // Lani visits and experiences the wonders of the Cookout tray // Breakfast at Paws with a man I don't deserve // Indian food...really good Indian food // Coffee Underground with partial India team

This week has been a doozy. A hard one. A really hard one.
Transition is never easy for me.
You add serious life decisions, other people, and stupid mistakes on top of that and it just gets ugly.

Christmas Break tends to put me on auto-pilot, which is dangerous for a 21-year-old college student who desires to really and truly glorify the Lord with her life.
Well, it's dangerous for anyone.

So here's to praying for more self-discipline and hoping in future grace.

The weekly // intro

Blogging is a very motherly thing to do, I think. I avidly read blogs of mom's with precious kids and hearts after the Lord that spur me on. While I don't have a family to call my own (in the sense of a husband and kids), I do have family and friends and a life that I learn in and want to remember.

I'm about as nostalgic and sentimental as they come.
I tend to process life best while writing.
Consequently, I've been blogging since I was in high school.
Go figure.

But lately, as life overwhelms me and gets the best of me, and passes by so rapidly, blogging becomes a burden. And I hate that.

I failed so, so miserably the past several months with keeping up. Keeping up with events and travel and day-to-day life. Then, things that I want to remember slip through. When looking back, those meaningful memories are forgotten.

I don't want to forget.

So instead of spending hours trying to fit months of life into an acceptably long blog post, I'm going to do something I saw someone else do a couple of years ago...

The weekly.

A blog a week. A short, snap shot of the week, with a picture or five and a few words or none.
We'll see what happens.
